In short: an AI video generator makes a short video from text or from a photo. For ads in an online store the safest route is image to video: you upload your real product photo, describe the motion and the camera, and cut 2 or 3 clips into an 8 to 15 second ad in 9:16. On TikTok a fully generated video must carry the AI-generated content label.
Written by the CloudCart team, the Bulgarian ecommerce platform, for stores selling in or from Bulgaria and across the EU. The rules of Meta, TikTok and the EU AI Act come from their official pages, linked below. Tool limits and prices change often, so check them before you buy a plan.
What an AI video generator is and what it does for an online store
An AI video generator is a model that creates video from a text description (text to video) or from a photo (image to video). For a store the second one matters more, because the product in the video stays yours: the model takes your photo as the first frame and adds motion, light and camera movement.
For a small store, AI video ads solve two problems. You get video for Reels and TikTok in minutes, with no shoot day, and you get 5 to 10 ad variations to test from photos already in your catalog.
The limits are clear too: models still get text, small details and hands in close-up wrong. AI video works best for mood and motion around the product. Show the feature a buyer will check with real footage. A video that promises more than the product delivers breaks the ad platforms' rules (see labels and rules).
How to turn a product photo into an 8 to 15 second ad
An ad from a photo takes five steps. The cleaner the photo, the less the model invents about your product.
- Pick products by data. Take 3 to 5 products with the most sales or the best margin, with stock for at least a month. A video for a product that sells out next week is wasted budget.
- Prepare a vertical photo. Product in the centre, room around it, clean background, good resolution. If the photo is horizontal, extend it to 9:16 with an AI image editor first, so the model does not crop the product.
- Generate 2 or 3 clips, each with one job. One clip for the opening seconds (motion that stops the scroll), one for the product in use and one for the ending with the product at rest.
- Assemble the clips in an AI video editor. In Canva, CapCut or the ad platform's own editor, you order the clips and add the price or benefit as text, captions and sound. Write text in the editor and leave it out of the prompt, because models still mangle letters.
- Run 3 to 5 variations and pause the weak ones. A different first frame, different text, different sound. After a few days keep the ones that bring purchases.
Which AI video tools to choose: Krea, Google Flow, Runway, Kling, Canva
For a store with no video team, the practical setup is one tool that bundles many models plus one editor for assembly. The table compares the five tools merchants look for most, based on their official pages.
| Tool | What it is | Image to video | What you use it for in a store |
|---|---|---|---|
| Krea AI | A platform with video models from several companies: Veo 3.1, Kling, Seedance, Runway, Wan, Hailuo and others | Yes | Run the same photo through several models and keep the best result |
| Google Flow | Google's video tool with the Veo and Gemini models | Yes | Cinematic shots and scenes, with a Google AI subscription |
| Runway | Video models Gen-4.5 and Gen-4, also available through Krea | Yes | Quick variations from one product photo |
| Kling | Video models, also available through Krea | Yes | Motion of people and objects: clothing, a product in hand |
| Canva | Online design editor | Check your plan | Assembling clips, text, captions, sizes for each network |
Krea AI
Krea AI is the easiest starting point, because dozens of video models sit in one interface and you do not pay a separate subscription for each. According to Krea's pricing page, the entry plan gives 100 compute units a day, Basic is $9 a month with 5,000 units and selected video models, and Pro is $35 a month with 20,000 units and all video models, including Veo 3.1, Seedance and Kling. Annual billing takes 40% off. Paid plans include the commercial license you need for advertising.
Google Flow and Veo
Google Flow is Google's video tool, running the Veo and Gemini video models. Per the Flow Help Center, you need to be 18 or older and have a Google AI Plus, Pro or Ultra subscription. Bulgaria is on Flow's list of supported countries. In the European Economic Area, editing an uploaded video and the Avatars feature are not available for now. Every Veo video made in Flow carries an invisible SynthID watermark that identifies it as AI-generated.
Runway, Kling and Hailuo
Runway (Gen-4.5 and Gen-4), Kling and Hailuo are all on Krea's list of video models, so you can compare them on the same photo without separate accounts. Kling and Hailuo suit videos where a person moves: a dress while walking, a product in hand, a cream being applied.
Canva as an AI video editor
Canva is where clips become an ad: price text, captions, the logo in the last frame and one project resized for Reels, Stories and TikTok.
Image to video prompts: a template and examples
A good image to video prompt describes motion, because the product is already in the photo. The template has six parts: what moves, how the camera moves, light, setting, pace and constraints.
| Prompt part | What you write | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Motion | One main action around the product | water droplets slide down the bottle |
| Camera | One kind of camera move | slow push-in, static tripod, slow orbit |
| Light | Direction and character | soft morning window light from the left |
| Setting | Where the product is | on a marble bathroom shelf |
| Pace | How fast | calm, smooth, no sudden cuts |
| Constraints | What must not change | keep the product shape, label and color exactly as in the image, no text |
The last part matters most for a store: it stops the model from "improving" your product into something you do not sell.
Example prompts by type of store
- Cosmetics:
Slow push-in on the serum bottle, a single drop falls from the dropper and ripples on the surface, soft morning light, marble shelf, calm pace. Keep the bottle shape, label and color exactly as in the image, no text. - Clothing:
The model walks two steps toward the camera, the fabric of the dress moves naturally, static camera at waist height, warm street light, smooth motion. Keep the dress cut, pattern and color exactly as in the image. - Food and drinks:
Steam rises from the cup, coffee beans fall in slow motion around it, slow orbit, dark wooden table, cozy light. Keep the cup and packaging exactly as in the image, no text.
Video formats and sizes for Reels and TikTok ads
For Reels and TikTok, video is vertical 9:16, with sound and with key elements away from the edges. The table collects the official requirements of both platforms.
| Requirement | Instagram Reels ad (Meta) | TikTok In-Feed ad |
|---|---|---|
| Aspect ratio | 9:16 | 9:16 (recommended), also 16:9 and 1:1 |
| Resolution | 1440×2560 px | at least 540×960 px for 9:16 |
| File | MP4, MOV, H.264, AAC audio from 128 kbps | .mp4, .mov, .mpeg, .3gp, .avi, bitrate from 516 kbps |
| File size | up to 4 GB | up to 500 MB |
| Length | up to 15 minutes | up to 10 minutes |
| Safe zone | 14% top, 35% bottom, 6% sides with no text or logo | per the safe zone templates in the Help Center |
| Sound | optional, strongly recommended | not required in the spec |

For a product ad, 8 to 15 seconds is enough. Generate in 9:16 from the start, because a cropped horizontal frame loses quality.
Important: the bottom 35% of a Reels frame is taken by the ad text and button. Put the price and benefit in the middle of the frame, and have the product in focus from the first second.
An AI video ad script, second by second
A 15 second ad has four parts, and the first two seconds decide whether anyone sees the rest. The script below works for most products and is built from three AI clips plus text in the editor.
| Seconds | What the viewer sees | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 2 | Motion that stops the scroll: a drop, steam, fabric in the air, light across the product | Clip 1, image to video from the main photo |
| 2 to 8 | The product in use or in a setting, with one benefit as text | Clip 2, with a person or a hand (Kling, Hailuo) |
| 8 to 12 | The product at rest, price and delivery as text | Clip 3, slow camera around the product |
| 12 to 15 | Call to action: "Order today" and the store name | Final frame in the editor |
For delivery text, Bulgarian shoppers look for the familiar options: delivery to an Econt or Speedy office (the two main Bulgarian courier networks) or a BOX NOW parcel locker. Make three versions of the first two seconds only and keep the rest the same. How to run the test in your ad account is covered in Meta Ads for an online store and TikTok Shop and TikTok ads.
Do you have to label a video made with AI?
Yes. On TikTok a fully generated video must carry the AI-generated content label, and in the EU, from 2 August 2026, realistic video that could pass as real must be disclosed as artificial. The rules differ in three places.
TikTok
Under TikTok's ad policy on misleading and false content, you disclose fully generated video, real footage where the main subject does something it never did, and cloned voices. You disclose them with the AI-generated content toggle in Ads Manager or with your own caption or sticker in the video. AI content without a label can be rejected or restricted. Minor edits such as colour, light or a replaced background need no label.
The same policy bans a public figure's likeness without permission and exaggerated results, including misleading before and after images.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
Per the Meta Help Center, the "AI info" label appears on ads created or significantly edited with Meta's own generative AI tools. If the image shows a photorealistic person created with AI, the label sits next to "Sponsored". Ads made in outside tools usually do not get this label automatically, so with video from Krea or Flow the disclosure is your job.
The EU Artificial Intelligence Act
Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the AI Act) applies from 2 August 2026. Paragraph 4 requires anyone who publishes a deep fake to disclose that the content is artificial. A deep fake under Article 3 is AI-generated image, audio or video that resembles existing people, objects, places or events and could pass as authentic. A realistic AI video of your product in a real setting can fall within that definition.
Paragraph 2 requires the tool makers to mark output in a machine-readable way, for example with a watermark such as SynthID.
Important: the simplest rule for a store is to switch on the AI label for every video where the scene is generated and add "Video created with AI" to the ad text. A missing label can stop the ad. This section describes the rules and is not legal advice.
How to tell whether an AI video is selling
An AI video sells when it brings orders at a cost your margin can carry. You measure it in the ad account and in the store.
- Connect the pixel and server events. In CloudCart the TikTok Pixel and Events API live in the TikTok Dynamic Ads app (Apps → TikTok Dynamic Ads → Settings), and the Meta Pixel is set up as described in the guide to Meta Pixel, Conversions API and TikTok Pixel.
- Add UTM tags to each variation. The video name in
utm_content(for exampleserum-drop-v2) shows in your reports exactly which clip in the campaign brought the order. - Check against the store. The "Sales by traffic source" report in Analytics groups revenue by source, and CloudCart recognises ad clicks by the
fbclidandttclidparameters. - Work out break-even ROAS. A video stays if its revenue covers the ad spend and the cost of goods.
Reuse the winning videos in the store. The product's Media section has a field for one YouTube video, and the Video block in the dynamic page builder (Marketing → Dynamic pages) shows a video from YouTube, Vimeo, Vbox7 (a Bulgarian video site) or an MP4 file by link. Products with photos and video also flow into your sales channels.
Mistakes that make AI video useless
- The product changes in the video. A different colour, label or shape. The customer gets something other than the ad showed and sends the parcel back. Check every frame against the photo.
- Horizontal video in Reels. Cropped video loses quality, and the key details land in the bottom 35%, under the button.
- One clip for the whole budget. Without 3 to 5 variations there is no test, and without a test you cannot tell whether the video or the product is working.
- No AI label. On TikTok the ad gets rejected, and in the EU a realistic AI video without disclosure breaches Article 50 of the AI Act.
Frequently asked questions
No single model is best for every product, so the practical choice is a tool like Krea AI, where you run one photo through several models (Veo, Kling, Seedance, Runway) and pick the best. Use Google Flow for cinematic scenes and Canva for the edit.
Upload the photo to an image to video tool, write a prompt for motion, camera and light, and add that the product stays exactly as in the photo. Generate a few versions, pick the most accurate and assemble it with text and sound in an editor. For an ad, make 2 or 3 clips and cut them to 8 to 15 seconds.
According to Krea's pricing page, the entry plan gives 100 compute units a day, Basic is $9 a month, Pro is $35 and Max is $105. Annual billing takes 40% off. All video models, including Veo 3.1 and Kling, start from the Pro plan.
On TikTok, yes, when the video is fully generated or significantly altered: turn on the AI-generated content label in Ads Manager, or the ad can be rejected or restricted. In the EU, from 2 August 2026, realistic AI video that could pass as real must also be disclosed under Article 50 of the AI Act. The safest choice is to label every generated video.
Vertical 9:16. Meta recommends 1440×2560 px for Instagram Reels ads and keeping 14% at the top, 35% at the bottom and 6% at the sides clear. TikTok asks for at least 540×960 px and a file up to 500 MB. For a product ad, 8 to 15 seconds is enough.
Yes, Bulgaria is on Google Flow's list of supported countries. You need to be 18 or older with a Google AI Plus, Pro or Ultra subscription. In the EEA, editing uploaded video and Avatars are not available for now.
Yes. In CloudCart each product has a field for one YouTube video in the Media section, and the Video block in the dynamic page builder shows video from YouTube, Vimeo, Vbox7 or an MP4 file by link. The page builder depends on your plan.
