# Skroutz and selling online in Greece from Bulgaria: a seller's guide

How to sell on Skroutz and in your own Greek store from Bulgaria: the Skroutz XML feed, ACS Courier, BOX NOW, Cardlink, Greek VAT of 24% and OSS.

In short: a company in Bulgaria sells to Greece through Skroutz, Greece's largest price comparison site, through its own Greek-language store, or through both. Skroutz reads your catalog from an XML feed with prices including VAT. Parcels go from Bulgaria by BOX NOW lockers or an aggregator, or inside Greece with ACS Courier. Above €10,000 a year in EU distance sales, you charge Greek VAT of 24%.

This guide is for foreign founders with a Bulgarian company, expats running a store from Sofia, Plovdiv or Blagoevgrad, and Bulgarian brands that already see Greek visitors in their analytics. It shows each step set up in CloudCart, the Bulgarian ecommerce platform. Confirm the tax rules for your company with your accountant.

## How do you sell online in Greece from Bulgaria?

You sell online in Greece from Bulgaria by listing your products on Skroutz, by running a Greek store with your own domain, or by doing both from one catalog. Both countries are in the EU and use the euro, so there are no customs and no currency conversion.

| Model | How it works | Best for | What you give up |

| Skroutz only | Your products appear on Skroutz next to other shops' offers; shoppers compare prices and click through or buy | Testing demand with branded products that have EAN barcodes | Skroutz's fees and rules, and shoppers who compare you on price first |

| Own Greek store | A store in Greek with your .gr or .com domain, couriers and payment methods | Brands with repeat customers and their own margin | You bring the traffic yourself: Google, Meta, email |

| Both | One catalog in CloudCart feeds Skroutz and the Greek store | Sellers who want Skroutz's reach and their own customer list | More product data to keep in order: barcodes, images, stock |

Launch the Greek store and the Skroutz feed together, because Skroutz sends shoppers to a product page that should be in Greek with the feed's price. The same thinking for every EU market is in the guide to [cross-border ecommerce in the EU](https://cloudcart.com/en/blog/cross-border-ecommerce-eu), and the Romanian version of this route is in [selling on eMAG Romania from Bulgaria](https://cloudcart.com/en/blog/sell-online-in-romania).

## What is Skroutz and how does it work for sellers?

Skroutz (skroutz.gr) is Greece's largest price comparison site: shoppers search for a product, compare the offers of many shops and go to the one they choose. A shop joins with a Skroutz merchant account and sends its catalog as an XML file that Skroutz downloads on a schedule.

Skroutz's developer documentation describes two ways to manage a catalog on Skroutz: the XML feed for the full catalog and a Products API for bulk updates of price, availability and quantity ([Skroutz XML Data Feed Specification](https://developer.skroutz.gr/products/xml_feed/)). The same documentation covers Skroutz Marketplace, where orders are placed on Skroutz itself. The model, the fees and the documents asked from a company outside Greece are set in your Skroutz merchant agreement.

What Skroutz requires from every feed, according to its specification:

- Prices include VAT. Each product carries its price with VAT and the VAT rate, such as 24.00.

- One product, one unique ID. The ID stays the same for the life of the product and is never reused; a product whose title changes into a different model is disabled.

- Barcodes and manufacturer codes. EAN and MPN (or ISBN for books) are required in all categories, and the manufacturer name also belongs in the product title.

- Images Skroutz can download. HTTPS links, no watermarks, the product at least 1,000 pixels on one side, no AVIF files and up to 15 image links per product.

- A fresh file. The feed declares its encoding and creation date, is regenerated at least once a day and is compressed when it is larger than 10 MB.

Important: Skroutz maps your availability text to its own fixed set: "In stock" for products that ship at once, "Available from 1 to 3 days", "Available from 4 to 6 days" and "Available up to 12 days", the longest delivery time Skroutz accepts for a product. Use the same wording in your feed settings.

## How do you create a Skroutz XML feed?

In CloudCart, the Skroutz feed is a ready-made part of the XML Feed app: you switch it on, map the size and colour parameters, set the availability texts and give Skroutz the feed URL. The platform builds the file in Skroutz's format and refreshes it about every 4 hours.

- Open the feed. In the admin, go to Apps → XML Feed → Skroutz and activate it.

- Choose the products. Send the whole catalog or filter by category, vendor, product, tag or a selection, and decide whether to send in-stock products only and whether hidden products are left out.

- Map size and colour. In Size parameters and Color parameters, pick the product parameters that hold size and colour, so Skroutz groups the variants of a T-shirt or a shoe under one product.

- Set the availability texts. Fill in Availability in stock and Availability out of stock with Skroutz's wording, for example "In stock" and "Available up to 12 days".

- Add the analytics key from your Skroutz merchant account in Analytics Key, if Skroutz gave you one.

- Copy the feed URL from the app and enter it in your Skroutz merchant account. Run it through Skroutz's Data Feed Validator first, linked from the specification.

For each product the CloudCart feed sends the ID, name, link, images, price with VAT and VAT rate, manufacturer, MPN, EAN, category, availability, quantity, size, colour, weight and the grouped variants. The category goes out as your own category path, with no mapping to Skroutz categories, so name categories the way a Greek shopper would search, such as "Γυναικεία Παπούτσια" (women's shoes) rather than an internal code.

The number of products in one feed depends on the plan, as listed on the [pricing page](https://cloudcart.com/en/pricing):

| Plan | Price per month, billed annually, excl. VAT | Products in the Skroutz feed |

| Baby Pack | €14 | Up to 100 |

| Starter Pack | €33 | Up to 2,000 |

| CC Pro | €83 | Up to 7,500 |

| CC Master | €249 | Up to 10,000 |

> Skroutz Your catalog on Skroutz, refreshed about every 4 hours The Skroutz feed groups your variants by size and colour the way Skroutz wants them, and the same catalog also feeds Google Shopping, Glami and eMAG. Skroutz and other sales channels →

## Which couriers deliver to Greece from Bulgaria?

From a warehouse in Bulgaria, a CloudCart store reaches Greek customers through BOX NOW lockers under a contract that covers Greece, through the Sendcloud aggregator where your Sendcloud account covers Greece, or with DHL Express. With stock in Greece, ACS Courier, Speedex and BOX NOW deliver inside Greece with live or table rates in euro.

ACS Courier is a Greek courier with its own offices and Smartpoint lockers. ACS says it has more than 350 service points in Greece, Cyprus, Albania and Bulgaria, handles over 54 million shipments a year and delivers to 15,500 destinations within Greece ([ACS in numbers](https://www.acscourier.net/en/useful-info/about-acs/acs-in-numbers/)). In CloudCart, the ACS integration ships within Greece: it prices and picks up your parcels from the ACS store named in your billing code, so it fits a seller with stock or a partner warehouse in Greece.

| Courier in CloudCart | Ships | Delivery options | Rates at checkout |

| ACS Courier | Inside Greece, from your ACS store | Address, ACS office, ACS Smartpoint lockers | Live ACS quote in EUR, or your own table |

| Speedex | Inside Greece (and Cyprus on the same contract) | Address only | Your own table; Speedex returns no live quote |

| BOX NOW | The countries in your BOX NOW contract | Locker only | Your own table by order value, weight or both |

| Sendcloud | The countries your Sendcloud account covers, through its couriers | Depends on the courier chosen | Quotes from Sendcloud's API |

| DHL Express | Worldwide, Greece included | Address | Live DHL Express quote |

BOX NOW runs locker networks in Bulgaria and Greece, and CloudCart places no country limit on it: which countries you ship to is decided by your BOX NOW contract and the lockers BOX NOW returns. A locker takes parcels up to 20 kg. How lockers work for the shopper and how to connect them is in the guide to [BOX NOW parcel lockers](https://cloudcart.com/en/blog/box-now-bulgaria).

ACS issues six credentials, including a billing code that starts with 2 and the code of your ACS store, such as 2ΑΘ123456. The service names for address and office delivery must match your ACS contract, or ACS rejects the voucher, and the daily pickup list in Apps → ACS Courier closes that day's vouchers.

> Delivery in Greece ACS, Speedex and BOX NOW in one checkout The Greek shopper picks an address, an ACS office, a Smartpoint or a BOX NOW locker and sees the shipping price before paying, and the voucher is created from the order. Couriers in CloudCart →

## Which payment methods do Greek customers expect?

A store for Greece needs card payments in euro with Apple Pay and Google Pay, and cash on delivery (antikatavoli in Greek) for shoppers who prefer to pay the courier. In CloudCart, card payments come from CloudCart Pay or from Cardlink, and ACS and Speedex both support cash on delivery.

| Payment option in CloudCart | What it adds for Greece |

| CloudCart Pay | Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay built into the checkout, 0% transaction fee through Dec 31, 2026 |

| Cardlink | The Greek card-acquiring network, through a contract with a Greek bank such as Alpha Bank or Nexi/Eurobank; the shopper pays in EUR on Cardlink's page with 3D Secure |

| Cash on delivery | With ACS Courier and Speedex when Enable cash on delivery is on in the courier's settings |

Cardlink needs a Greek merchant contract; CloudCart Pay needs no separate bank agreement. A refused cash on delivery parcel travels back at your cost. The trade-offs are compared in [cash on delivery or card payment](https://cloudcart.com/en/blog/cash-on-delivery-vs-card-payments).

> CloudCart Pay 0% transaction fee through Dec 31, 2026 A Greek shopper who arrives from Skroutz pays by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay in euro before the parcel leaves Bulgaria, with no fee on the card payment through the end of the year. How CloudCart Pay works →

## Which VAT do you charge on sales to Greece?

A Bulgarian company charges Bulgarian VAT on sales to Greek consumers until its EU distance sales pass €10,000 a year, and Greek VAT after that. The €10,000 (excluding VAT) is one total for all EU countries together, and the One Stop Shop (OSS) for declaring it has applied since 1 July 2021 ([European Commission, VAT One Stop Shop](https://vat-one-stop-shop.ec.europa.eu/one-stop-shop_en)).

Greece's standard VAT rate is 24%, with reduced rates of 6%, 13% and 17% and a super-reduced rate of 4%, according to the EU's table of rates, last checked by the EU on 13 July 2026 ([Your Europe, VAT rates](https://europa.eu/youreurope/business/taxation/vat/vat-rules-rates/index_en.htm)).

Example: a product at €100 excluding VAT costs a Greek consumer €120 with Bulgarian VAT of 20% and €124 with Greek VAT of 24%. Skroutz shows your price next to Greek shops that charge 24%.

- Add up your EU distance sales for this year and last year, excluding VAT, Bulgarian customers and B2B sales to companies with a valid EU VAT number.

- Decide before you reach €10,000. You may also charge Greek VAT from the first sale.

- Register for OSS with the NRA, the National Revenue Agency, Bulgaria's tax authority. OSS lets you declare and pay Greek VAT through one quarterly return in Bulgaria. The other option is a VAT registration in Greece.

- Set the Greek rate in the store. In Settings → Taxes and fees, create a VAT rule for a geo zone covering Greece, leave Make the tax Global off and switch on One Stop Shop. A Greek consumer then pays the Greek rate.

- Check the Skroutz feed. The feed sends the price with VAT and the VAT rate, so after the switch it should show 24% where the product page does.

A Greek company buying from you with a VAT number validated in VIES, the EU's VAT number check, gets the order without VAT, and the invoice prints your "without VAT" reason. The full OSS walkthrough is in [OSS VAT for cross-border EU sales](https://cloudcart.com/en/blog/oss-eu-vat-cross-border-sales).

## How do invoices work for sales to Greece?

A Bulgarian company invoices Greek customers from the order in CloudCart, the same way it invoices in Bulgaria, while a company registered in Greece reports its documents to myDATA, the electronic books platform of AADE, the Greek tax authority. Which rules apply depends on where your company is established and registered for VAT.

- Bulgarian company, shipping from Bulgaria. Invoices and credit notes come from the order with your numbering and company details, and the customer gets them by email. Above €10,000 they carry Greek VAT and go into your OSS return. Ordinance N-18, the Bulgarian rule on reporting online sales to the NRA, still applies.

- Greek company. The myDATA (Greece) app sends every invoice and credit note to myDATA on your own credentials and prints the MARK, UID and QR code that AADE returns on the PDF.

In Apps → myDATA (Greece) you connect with the myDATA user and subscription key from myAADE, start in the test environment, enter the 9-digit VAT number (ΑΦΜ) and the document series, and map each payment method, such as cash on delivery as Cash and card as POS / e-POS.

The app is available on every plan and sends each document the moment it gets a number. The invoicing side of a CloudCart store is on the [invoices page](https://cloudcart.com/en/invoices).

## How do you build a Greek version of your store?

A Greek version of a CloudCart store is a sister store in Greek, built from your main store with the Multilang app, with its own domain, prices, couriers and payment methods. The catalog stays in your main store and is copied or machine-translated into Greek, and hreflang tags tell Google which store to show a Greek searcher.

Multilang translates products, categories, blog articles and pages with Google Cloud Translation, and the sync runs one way, from the main store to the sister store. A new sister store starts on a cloudcart.net subdomain, and you then connect your own domain, such as yourstore.gr. A new translation overwrites edits made in the sister store, so finish the catalog first and correct the Greek text afterwards.

- Publish the 14-day withdrawal right in Greek. An EU consumer may withdraw within 14 days of delivery without a reason, and you refund within 14 days of being told ( Your Europe, returns ).

The model with one catalog and a store per country, with Bulgaria, Romania and Greece side by side, is on the [multistore page](https://cloudcart.com/en/multistore); the setup in detail is in the guide to the [multilingual online store](https://cloudcart.com/en/blog/multilanguage-multicurrency-multistore). Return rules in full are in [returns and consumer rights](https://cloudcart.com/en/blog/returns-consumer-rights-online-store).

## How to launch sales in Greece: step by step

Launch the Greek store and the Skroutz feed together, with courier and VAT ready before the first order.

- Pick the first products: items with an EAN barcode, a manufacturer and images above 1,000 pixels.

- Create the Greek store with Multilang and correct the checkout and top products by hand.

- Choose the courier: BOX NOW or Sendcloud from Bulgaria, ACS Courier or Speedex for stock in Greece.

- Apply to Skroutz as a merchant, activate the Skroutz feed, map size and colour and pass the Data Feed Validator.

- Place a test order end to end, from the Greek checkout to the voucher, the invoice and a refund.

> New store €1/month for the first 3 months Set up the Greek store, the couriers and the Skroutz feed on the full plan before you pay the regular price. The offer applies to new stores on every plan. Create a store for €1 →

Orders in your own Greek store carry no platform commission, which matters when Skroutz's own fees already sit on part of your sales; the details are on the [0% commission page](https://cloudcart.com/en/offer/zero-commission-ecommerce). Questions can go to support@cloudcart.com.

## Frequently asked questions

**How do I sell on Skroutz?**

You apply for a Skroutz merchant account and send your catalog as an XML feed with prices including VAT, a unique ID, EAN and MPN for every product. In CloudCart, the Skroutz feed is ready in Apps → XML Feed → Skroutz, and you give Skroutz its URL.

**Can a Bulgarian company sell on Skroutz?**

Skroutz decides which shops it accepts, and the documents it asks from a company registered outside Greece are set in its merchant agreement, so check them with Skroutz before you build the feed. Your store also needs a Greek product page for each item, because Skroutz sends shoppers there and checks a sample of the pages.

**Which courier ships from Bulgaria to Greece?**

From a Bulgarian warehouse, a CloudCart store can ship to Greece with BOX NOW lockers if your BOX NOW contract covers Greece, through the Sendcloud aggregator or with DHL Express. ACS Courier and Speedex deliver inside Greece, so they fit stock held in Greece.

**What is the VAT rate in Greece for online sales?**

Greece's standard VAT rate is 24%, with reduced rates of 6%, 13% and 17% and a super-reduced rate of 4%. A Bulgarian company applies Greek VAT to Greek consumers once its EU distance sales pass €10,000 a year, usually through the OSS return with the NRA.

**Do I need myDATA to sell to Greece?**

It depends on where your company is established and registered for VAT, so check with an accountant who knows Greek rules. A Greek company on CloudCart can send its invoices and credit notes to myDATA with the myDATA (Greece) app.
